Portfolio Analyst
Business Unit: Group Risk Management
Role Definition
Maintain analytical capability within portfolio management using cutting edge tools and methodologies.
Specific detail
• Maintain environment for modelling and analysis of capital orientated data.
• Using a quantitative approach maintain and develop a business focused Economic Capital expertise.
• Development of Economic Capital Models
• Develop key relationships with Divisional data providers
Core Responsibilities
• Undertake and manage risk reviews and where appropriate, due diligence reviews, managing relationships in order to provide assurance that the business is managing economic capital effectively.
• Undertake and manage the preparation and delivery of reports to senior management on information gathered and analysed in order to make recommendations for improvements to the management and control of economic capital as appropriate.
• Conduct research and interpret the data received on emerging Group or industry wide risks and evaluate trends in risk concentration in order to provide early warning to help the Group identify, avoid and take action to mitigate risks.
• Interpret external market developments, statutory regulations and internal Group requirements in order to support the development of appropriate strategies to manage, monitor and control economic capital.
• When required, support the development of the department Business Plan, in order to meet or exceed the agreed performance objectives, monitoring progress against completion throughout the year.
• When required, assess specific business proposals, providing critical analysis and recommendations to enable sanctioning by senior management.
• Ensure compliance with relevant procedures and guidelines together with all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements where appropriate implementing actions to protect the Bank’s business at all times.
• Manage and support project activities, including risk identification, evaluation and management in order to ensure they are delivered on time
